Welcome to your stay at Oliva Beach Getaway

We’re happy to have you with us! Here’s everything you need to make your check-in smooth and seamless.

Check-In

Check-In Details

Address

  • Avineda Mar Mediterraneo 1B, Oliva 46780

Check-In Time

  • 15:00 or later

First Arriving at the Apartment

  • Enter into your car’s navigation Avineda Mar Mediterraneo 1B, Oliva 46780. If that doesn’t work then La Goleta, Carrer de la Mar Mediterraneo, 7, 46780 Oliva. That’s a restaurant on the corner of the next street.

  • When you get off the highway you will be brought into the charming town of Oliva. Then you’ll drive towards the beach on a road with palm trees. Soon you’ll see a Burger King and Holiday Inn on your right. You are very close to the apartment. Immediately after passing the Burger King and Holiday Inn Express you will come to a roundabout with a large anchor in the middle of it. The blue apartment building on the corner of the roundabout has the beach apartment inside. It’s the apartment with the beige balcony.

  • From the roundabout, take the second exit so that the blue apartment building is on your left. Try to find a parking space there on that street. Put your hazard lights on so they are blinking. Take your things out of your car.

  • There are a few blue apartment buildings. Our Oliva Beach Getaway apartment building is the one on the street corner. Walk behind the blue apartment building that is on the street corner and you will see a staircase that goes up the back of the apartment building.

  • The beach apartment is on the first floor. It is the dark wooden door on the right. This is the entrance to the apartment.

Key Pick Up

  • We will not be there to hand over the keys. This apartment is self check in with lockbox.

  • The lockbox password will be sent to your smartphone for privacy and security.

  • A lockbox is on the stair railing. Flip open the front and you will find 4 dials. Turn the dials to the password. Then flip the black switch. The lockbox will open and inside will be 1 set of keys. Take out the keys and close the lockbox fully.

  • There are 2 keys in total. They unlock the top 2 locks on the door of the apartment. The bottom lock does not have a key.

  • On the inside of the door you will find 3 locks: the top 2 locks that have their respective keys, and a bottom lock that only locks from inside.

  • There is no door handle on the inside of the door. This is actually a great way to never lock yourself out. You must close at least 1 of the locks when inside the apartment to keep the door closed. And when leaving the apartment you can’t lock yourself out by accident. You must lock the top 2 locks with the keys to keep the door closed.

  • When you enter the apartment there are a few small storage boxes on the large storage closet in the entry way. Feel free to store your keys there for easy access.

Key Troubleshooting

  • When outside the apartment trying to get in, there is the odd chance that the keyhole to the locks might be tight. So tight in fact, that you can’t push the key in all the way. Do not push the key in and force it. Do not call anyone. Do not worry. There is a simple solution. Just look at the keyhole. See the picture below.

If the keyhole is open to the left then everything is ok. (Top picture with the green check mark.)

  • If the keyhole is open to the right then things are not ok. (Bottom picture with the red X.)

  • To get the keyhole back to the left, simply take your fingernail and turn the keyhole to the left. Then insert the key all the way and lock or unlock it.

Parking

  • Yes. You can park for free on the street. But in peak season, sometimes there aren’t that many parking spots. An excellent alternative is right across the street, back in the direction of Burger King and Holiday Inn Express but on the right side of the street. There you’ll find a free parking lot.

  • However, the first time entering it with your car can be confusing. I’d highly recommend unloading all of your luggage in the apartment and then walking across the street to see where you can enter the parking lot with your car. You want to walk with your back to the apartment building and in the direction of Burger King and Holiday Inn Express but on the right side of the street. In just a few steps as you are about to get back onto the main road, you’ll see an entrance into the free parking lot. Think of it as the last exit before getting back on the main road with the palm trees on it. That is how you enter and exit the free parking lot.

  • Now walk back to your car, drive around the roundabout with the large anchor in the middle, leave the roundabout as if you are driving back to the main road with the palm trees on it, and then immediately drive into the free parking lot.

  • Even in the height of summer, you can always find a parking spot in that free parking lot.

  • When first arriving at Oliva Beach it may seen stressful understanding how the roads are laid out. But very soon you will see how easy it is, once you know where the roads go.

  • When you start exploring everything on foot you’ll see just how central you are to everything and will only need your car to travel outside of Oliva Beach.

Apartment Guide

Welcome Kit

  • Inside the apartment there is a Welcome Kit book waiting for you with all of the information at your fingertips. The Welcome Kit is a shorter version of this Check-In page that you are reading right now. Please read this page from beginning to end, and you can refer to the Welcome Kit book for the bullet points.

Sets of Keys

  • Inside the lockbox there is 1 set of keys to get you into the apartment.

  • Upon entering the apartment there are small storage boxes on the side of the large storage unit in the entryway. Inside the apartment please leave the keys in the small storage boxes so you don’t forget them anywhere.

  • When you leave the apartment, please ALWAYS lock the keys in the lockbox. This reduces the risk of you losing the keys when you are outside of the apartment and will help train your brain to leave the keys in the lockbox when you check-out so you don’t take the keys back home with you.

  • You are responsible for all of the sets of keys during your stay.

  • If you lose the keys during your stay you will be charged extra to replace them.

The 2 Lock Rule

  • Oliva is a safe place. That said, it is traditional to have many locks on the doors for everyone’s safety.

  • Your safety is of utmost priority to us. We understand that locking 2 locks each time you go through the front door can be annoying. But we’d rather you be annoyed for a few seconds than be responsible for damages or losses due to not locking the 2 top locks.

  • THAT’S WHY WE ASK YOU TO PLEASE LOCK THE 2 TOP LOCKS LOCKS DURING YOUR STAY.

WiFi Information

  • The apartment has WiFi throughout. There is 1 WiFi box in the living room that spreads enough WiFi throughout the entire apartment with no problems. The WiFi name and password are printed on the white board in the kitchen and in your Welcome Kit for you to easily get online.

Air Conditioning & Heating

  • In Spain, the air conditioners are multi-functional. In the summers they work to keep you cool. And in the winters they work to keep you warm. There is an air conditioner in all of the rooms in the apartment. Each conditioner has its own remote control. Point the remote control at the air conditioner and press the main button to turn it on. You will hear a short beep and the bottom covering will move and that is where the air will come out.

  • All air conditioners have already been pre-programmed before your arrival for maximum comfort. All you have to do is turn it on and enjoy. There’s no need to change the settings.

  • To turn the air conditioner off, point the remote control at the air conditioner and press the main button until you hear a long beep. Then the bottom flap will close and cover where the air used to come out.

  • PLEASE TURN OFF ALL AIR CONDITIONERS BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE.

  • TROUBLESHOOTING: If you turn the air conditioner on, hear the short beep, but the bottom covering does not move - just wait and be patient. The air conditioner may not have been used for a while and may need to to warm up. Wait a few minutes and soon the bottom covering will open up and begin blowing air.

  • TROUBLESHOOTING: If you are trying to turn the air conditioner on or off and it’s not beeping, walk closer to the air conditioner, point the remote directly at it, and press the main button again. If that still doesn’t work, then the batteries may need to be replaced. Extra batteries are in the kitchen in the drawer below the microwave.

  • Wall heaters are all unplugged as to not heat the apartment unknowingly. If you would like to heat up one room using the wall heater, simply plug it in, and press the on button on the heater, and your desired temperature. You may notice that the room gets warm quickly, especially with the door closed, so you may not need to keep the wall heater on for a long time as it works fast.

  • PLEASE UNPLUG ALL WALL HEATERS BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE.

Laundry Facilities

  • The washing machine is located on the utility balcony right off the kitchen.

  • Please use drying line and pegs on the utility balcony or the provided drying racks to air dry your clothes.

  • An iron and ironing board is also available to iron your clothes.

Entryway Storage Unit

  • In the entry, there’s a large dark brown wooden storage unit—and it’s all yours to use!

  • Inside, it’s completely empty and perfect for storing coats, jackets, shoes (there’s a built-in shoe rack), suitcases, and anything else that tends to clutter an entryway.

  • Please use it—that’s exactly what it’s there for!

  • One section is dedicated to cleaning supplies. So if you need to wipe something up or clean something off, feel free to use the cleaning supplies in the entryway storage unit.

House Rules

We kindly ask that you observe the following guidelines to ensure a comfortable stay for you and our future guests:

  • No smoking inside the property: Smoking is only permitted on the balcony. Ashtrays are provided on the utility balcony. Please dispose of all cigarette butts properly making sure they are all put out and are not burning embers in the trash can.

  • No sand in the apartment: After visiting the beach please go onto the utility balcony to drop off the beach things, brush the sand off your feet, and then hop in the shower to was the rest of the sand off. You can also use the wireless vacuum to remove sand form the floor in just a few seconds.

  • Quiet hours: Please respect quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

  • Trash bags: New trash bags are located in the kitchen drawers for your convenience. Please only use the trash bin when a trash bag is inside of it.

  • Trash removal: Please dispose of your trash in the designated bins provided on the property. There is a large trash bin in the kitchen and a small trash bin in each bathroom. When a trash bag is full please throw it away in the public trash containers outside the property.

  • No gatherings or parties: We kindly ask that guests do not host parties or large gatherings in the apartments to respect our neighbors and the local community.

  • Do not rearrange furniture: The furniture has been placed in such a way for maximum flow and ease of movement through the space. Moving furniture will only cause blockages and interruptions in the flow and movement and can lead to injury. Please keep all furniture where they have been placed.

  • Turn off air conditioner when not in a room: There’s no need to have all air conditioners on in all rooms when most of the rooms are unoccupied. It’s an unnecessary cost.

  • Turn off all air conditioners when leaving the apartment: This is a no-brainer. There’s no need to have the air conditioners running when no one is in the apartment. It’s an unnecessary cost.

  • If something happens, tell us: Accidents happen. A plate breaks, juice spills, a stain appears out of nowhere. It’s all part of being human. So instead of trying to hide it, checking-out, and then we discover it in the hectic in between stage of getting the apartment ready for the next guest. Rather, please tell us immediately when it happens. That way we can solve the problem faster.
